Why do we research our ancestors? The reasons are as varied as there are people.
Some of us do it to leave a legacy for our children, or to “set the story straight”.
Others have a spiritual interest, or they research for medical reasons.
Perhaps you research for the bragging rights to find that King or Queen or Salem witch in your family tree.
Still others enjoy the study of the history surrounding their ancestors. They have an interest in the life and times of the family that came before them. They enjoy discovering why a family immigrated or are interested in the social economics of previous eras.
It can be extremely fun to play the family tree detective game, and that is a motivating factor for many of us.
